When a new building is needed in the Amish community, the members come together for one day, and the building is completed by dark. Usually a contingent of 200-300 workers is available for the project. When we build away from our labor force, we handle things differently.
The first step is for us to have an initial conversation so we can discuss the feasibility and time schedule. We are often committed to construction dates one, two or three years into the future. Naturally, we develop lasting relationships with our clients. Manifesting a Timber Frame Structure is a process that many times can take years to fully develop.
Once we receive a Deposit we will Design and Engineer the Structure. After the plans are agreed upon, we will produce detailed shop drawings (plans for each component of the structure). We will coordinate with our suppliers for the timbers needed. We will then fabricate the structure.

All preliminary work will take place at our facility in Ohio.
Imagine a large “Lincoln Log” set being custom made just for your building. Once all the joinery is completed, the frame is shipped by truck to your construction site. We can arrange for on-site assembly by our people. This method is preferred, and the most economical, as we have the detailed knowledge of where each piece will go. Usually it takes one of our Amish crews three-to-seven days to construct your timber frame. Of course, the size and complexity of the structure always dictates the time needed.
To assist in controlling costs and simplifying the entire construction process, we construct the total frame and set the rafters. The remaining work ( electrical, plumbing, ect.) is completed by local tradesmen from your area. This method allows you, the client, to have total control over the project and save money. Once your general contractor is comfortable with the project, we go home.
